Virginia sees 3,191 new coronavirus cases, now reporting 544,209 statewide

As of February 12, Virginia is reporting 544,209 cases of the coronavirus across the commonwealth since March 2020.

As of Friday, a total of 1,191,875 vaccines have been administered across Virginia, with 245,471 people being fully vaccinated, according to VDH.

Here is a breakdown of the 3,191 new coronavirus cases reported in Virginia:

  • 232 new cases in Chesterfield County
  • 207 new cases in Virginia Beach
  • 176 new cases in Stafford County
  • 137 new cases in Chesapeake
  • 134 new cases in Prince William County
  • 110 new cases in Henrico County and Loudoun County
  • 104 new cases in Norfolk
  • 102 new cases in Richmond
  • 64 new cases in Arlington County
  • 63 new cases in Roanoke
  • 62 new cases in Montgomery County
  • 57 new cases in Alexandria
  • 53 new cases in Spotsylvania County and Danville

  • One less case in Louisa County
  • Two fewer cases in Floyd County
  • Three fewer cases in Williamsburg
  • Five fewer cases in Giles County
  • Six fewer cases in Clarke County
  • 13 fewer cases in Roanoke County

As of Friday, the Virginia Dept. of Health reports there have been 6,847,477 total testing encounters.

The term “testing encounters” includes individuals who have been tested more than once due to their profession, high-risk status or need for a negative result to return to work. The health department started using this metric on May 1.
