Virginia sees 11,126 new COVID-19 cases, 50 additional deaths

Virginia – As of Wednesday morning, Virginia health officials have reported 1,503,119 coronavirus cases and 16,052 virus-related fatalities, including 11,126 new confirmed and probable COVID-19 cases and 50 new confirmed and probable virus related deaths from around the state.
From the above mentioned cases and fatalities, 1,072,699 COVID-19 cases and 13,405 deaths are confirmed and 430,420 COVID-19 cases and 2,647 deaths are considered probable as of Wednesday, January 26.
The Virginia Department of Health also reported that the seven-day COVID-19 test positivity rate has dropped from 27.6 percent to 27.2 percent in the last 24 hours.
As of Wednesday, health officials said they had received 47,398 total records of confirmed and suspected virus-related hospitalizations throughout Virginia, which is 131 more than the Virginia Department of Health reported on Tuesday, Jan. 25.
