MARTINSVILLE, Va. – Martinsville police have one suspect in custody while another remains at-large in a convenience store shooting over the weekend.
Around 2 a.m. Saturday, officers were called to the Valero in the 1100 block of Brookdale Street when a panic alarm was triggered.
The store clerk reported two vehicles had been in the parking lot when gunshots rang out; both vehicles left the scene.
Police say Ombae Johnson, Jr, Dasyne Hairson and Deangelo Howard were involved in an altercation when Johnson pulled a gun and shot Howard.

Howard was taken to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital for treatment.
Hairson turned himself in Monday, police say. He’s charged with malicious wounding, shooting into an occupied building, reckless handling of a firearm and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
Johnson remains at-large and is wanted on the same charges.
MPD has enlisted the help of the U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force to track down Johnson and take him into custody
