Two pilots and two passengers injured after a two-plane crash in Fauquier Co.

On Saturday morning, during the Flying Circus Airshow in Fauquier County, Virginia, there was a collision between two aircraft, which resulted in four people being injured.

At around 9:05 in the morning, two Stearman Aircrafts were involved in an accident at Bealton, right off Route 17. According to the Virginia State Police, the incident took place while one of the aircraft was trying to land and the other was attempting to take off. One of the planes flipped over after the collision.

The man who was landing the aircraft, who was 62 years old and from Warrenton, was flying with a woman who was 50 years old as a passenger. At the scene, medical personnel provided treatment for both of their minor injuries.

Both the pilot taking off, who was 62 years old and from Chesterfield, and the passenger, who was 14 years old, were taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries, according to the police.

People on the ground did not sustain injuries.

According to the Virginia State Police, the Federal Aviation Administration came to the location of the crash, and the investigation into what caused the crash is still ongoing.
