Two people killed and five were injured in Norfolk shooting

NORFOLK, Va. — In a shooting that took place on Sunday in Norfolk, Virginia, authorities reported that two individuals were killed and five others were wounded.

At about midnight, police officers responded to a complaint of a shooting. When the police arrived, they discovered five people—four women and three men—who had been shot.

According to the police, Zabre Miller, 25, and Angela McKnight, 19, both later passed away at the hospital.

A post on the university’s Facebook page says that many students from Norfolk State University were shot and hurt in an event that happened off-campus.

According to what was said in the post by the educational institution, “Initial indications suggest that our students were innocent spectators of a gunshot during an evening home party.”

NSU further said that the campus was protected by the police, and that there was no active threat.

According to police statements, the investigation was still ongoing on Sunday.
