Trump refers to McConnell as a “piece of s—” during an interview

During an interview that former President Trump gave to New York Times writer Maggie Haberman for the purpose of writing her upcoming book, Trump referred to Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) as a “piece of shit.”

On Sunday, an extract from Haberman’s book was released in The Atlantic. In it, Trump’s criticisms of the top Republican in the Senate were included. The top Republican’s relationship with the former president had deteriorated due to their differing views on the election in 2020. Since then, Trump has taken to referring to McConnell as “The Old Crow.”

“The Old Crow’s a piece of shit,” Trump told Haberman during an interview at Mar-a-Lago.

On October 4, Haberman’s book, which has the working title “Confidence Man: The Making of Donald Trump and the Breaking of America,” will be made available to the general public. In the sample that was made public, Haberman said that she had had three separate interviews with Trump for the book after he had left his position as president.

During the time that President Trump was in office, a reporter for the New York Times who had previously held positions at Politico, the New York Post, and the New York Daily News established a reputation for consistently being the first to break news about the administration.

Haberman wrote that throughout his presidency and decades-long career in the real estate business, Trump placed a consistent importance on strength. This included praise for Chinese President Xi Jinping, who got rid of the country’s term limits and is getting ready for a third term as the leader of the Chinese Communist Party.

She also mentioned that Trump heaped praise on the strength of Meade Esposito, a former party boss who forcefully dominated Democratic politics in Brooklyn, and she added that she asked the former president if he expected the White House to function in the same way. She noted that Trump heaped praise on the strength of Meade Esposito.

“Well, I figured that the Mitch McConnells would be like him, in the sense of strength,” Trump said, according to Haberman.

During most of Trump’s presidency, McConnell and Trump worked together. This led to the confirmation of many conservative Supreme Court justices and the passing of major tax cuts and other Republican initiatives.

But since he left the White House, Trump has been quite vocal in his criticism of McConnell for the way in which he congratulated President Biden on his victory in the 2020 presidential election.

Without providing any proof to support his claim, Trump has claimed that Biden’s win was the result of widespread voting fraud.

In a message that was released earlier this month, the former president referred to McConnell as an “absolute loser.”
