The Boys Home of Virginia – an institution committed to providing life-changing experiences to its students

The Boys Home of Virginia, an institution committed to providing quality education and life-changing experiences to its students, has received the coveted full accreditation from the Virginia Association of Independent Schools (VAIS). VAIS, which was established in 1973, is the preeminent organization that advocates for independent school education in Virginia.

Its accreditation program is recognized not only at the state level but also internationally through the International Council Advancing Independent School Accreditation (ICAISA). Additionally, VAIS is approved by the Virginia Board of Education via the Virginia Council for Private Education (VCPE).

Boys Home underwent a rigorous and comprehensive voluntary accreditation process, which included a thorough self-study involving input from all stakeholders. A team of peer evaluators from VAIS member schools spent several days on campus to review the self-study report, documentation, curriculum, and observe campus life.

They also had meetings with administrators, trustees, students, parents, faculty, and staff. The evaluators then provided a detailed written assessment of Boys Home’s philosophy, mission, instruction and program, curriculum, community, and residential life. The report was then submitted for accreditation approval by the VAIS Board of Directors.

The Executive Director of Boys Home, Chris Doyle, expressed his excitement and pride over the institution’s achievement. He acknowledged that the recognition from VAIS was a testament to the high standards of Boys Home’s program and the dedication of its staff.

As a former student, teacher, parent, and trustee, Doyle knows firsthand the impact that strong independent schools have on their students. He is confident that the accreditation from VAIS will serve as a valuable resource to help Boys Home fulfill its mission of developing its students’ full potential – spiritually, mentally, physically, and socially, and mlding them into productive members of society.

Boys Home’s full accreditation from VAIS is a significant achievement that reflects the institution’s commitment to providing quality education and the best possible experience for its students. It also highlights the importance of organizations like VAIS in advocating for independent school education and ensuring that the highest standards are met.
