Roanoke County received three national awards
Roanoke County, Virginia – Roanoke County was given three national points of recognition for its innovative and effective county government programs that made services better for its residents, the county said.
The county received three Achievement Awards from the National Association of Counties (NACo):
- The Web Application for the Capital Improvement Program, which makes it easier for residents to access public data and promotes the transparency of the government.
- The Application for the Rural Broadband Initiative, which provides residents with the chance to access information on the availability of broadband projects in their own communities.
- The Reimagine 419 Plan, which develops a town center in the core of the County’s commercial corridor by leveraging public-private partnerships.
According to the statement made by the county, the awards are presented annually and are handed out in eighteen different categories. They were first given out in 1970.
