Man hospitalized with severe gunshot injuries in Suffolk

SUFFOLK, Va. — An investigation has been opened by the Suffolk Police Department into a gunshot that occurred on Monday morning and left a man injured.

A news release states that just after midnight, police received a report in regards to a shooting that took place in the 800 block of West Washington Street.

They discovered a man who had suffered severe injuries when they arrived at the location. He was transported to the hospital, but information regarding his identity or his condition was not made public.

This is the second shooting that happened in Suffolk over the weekend.

The authorities did not say whether they were able to identify any suspects. An investigation into this incident is underway.
