Man found suffering from gunshot injuries over the weekend in Roanoke died
ROANOKE, Va. – According to the Roanoke Police Department, the man who was discovered with gunshot wounds in NW Roanoke late on Sunday night has passed away.
According to the police, they arrived at the scene about 9:30 p.m. Officers responded to the 700 block of 29th Street Northwest, where they discovered a man outside of a residence suffering from what seemed to be life-threatening gunshot wounds. Roanoke Fire-EMS took the man to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital for treatment.
On Monday morning, the police were notified that he had passed away. The identity of the individual, according to the police, will be made public after his relatives have been contacted. At the time of the incident, no one had been apprehended.
The death of the man is being looked into by the police as a possible homicide.
