Man died while scattering his father’s ashes following an ultralight aircraft accident in Minnesota
According to law enforcement officials, a man who died in an aircraft accident this week in Minnesota was scattering the ashes of his father at the time of his death.
Deputies who arrived at the site determined that the passenger in the aircraft, Lee Cemensky, 58, was scattering the ashes of his father when the accident happened.
According to the Crow Wing County sheriff’s officials, Cemensky and the pilot, who has been identified as 61-year-old Douglas Johnson, were both killed when the amphibious ultralight aircraft they were riding in crashed in the north central region of Minnesota.
Both were found dead at the site of the accident on Sunday, which took place in the woods to the north of Emily.
Johnson operated the business Fly the Swan. According to the company’s website, a ride on the amphibious ultralight provides passengers with a bird’s-eye perspective of the surrounding lakes and terrain, as well as the opportunity to touch down on the water.
The Federal Aviation Administration said that “unknown circumstances” led to the accident of the 2010 Cygnet aircraft when it was trying to land.
and was informed that the aircraft had taken off but had not arrived at its destination. A little after 8:30 p.m., first responders arrived on the scene of the accident.
According to multiple news sources, Cemensky lived in Las Vegas for a very long time. However, he sold his business in February and moved back to his hometown of Fifty Lakes, Minnesota.
An online obituary published by Koop Funeral Home states that Leo John Cemensky, Cemensky’s father, passed away on August 7 at his home in Fifty Lakes.
