Jill Biden tested negative for COVID-19
Jill Biden, the first lady of the United States, has tested negative for the COVID-19 virus. As a result, her office announced on Sunday that she will leave South Carolina and join President Biden at their beach house in Delaware, where she has been quarantined since returning from vacation.
On Tuesday, the White House confirmed that Jill Biden, 71, had tested positive for the coronavirus despite having received two primary doses and two booster doses of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine. Monday was the first day she noticed any symptoms.
On August 7, the 79-year-old president recovered from a recurrence of the virus.
Spokeswoman Elizabeth Alexander said that after five days of treatment with the antiviral medicine Paxlovid and isolation at the Bidens’ Kiawah Island vacation home, Jill Biden tested negative for COVID-19 on two separate occasions. Later on Sunday, Jill Biden is going to visit the state of Delaware.
