Huckleberry Park’s opening in Christiansburg scheduled for spring

CHRISTIANSBURG, Va. – The opening of a brand-new park in Christiansburg is currently scheduled for the spring.

In the spring of 2021, construction on what is now known as Huckleberry Park began, and the pace of construction has picked up significantly in recent months.

It will have a variety of amenities such as an open-access playground, a challenge course, and a splash pad.

They are working on the playground’s installation this week.

“Whether you’re the aging population, whether you are a child, whether you’re a sports fanatic, whether you want to go sit on a bench and read a book, all of those recreational activities will be provided here, from a passive standpoint, and from an active standpoint,” said Parks and Recreation Director Brad Epperley.

In addition, there will be nearly two miles of walking trails and two dog parks for residents to use.
