Health Department provides advice to parents on how to avoid lead poisoning

ROANOKE, Va. – According to some medical professionals, childhood lead poisoning is the most avoidable environmental illness among young children, but about half a million children in the United States have high blood lead levels.

Christie Wills of the Roanoke City and Alleghany Health Districts discussed these issues and what parents can do with WDBJ7. She emphasized the need for parents to request screenings for their children, particularly if they have risk factors.
