Harbor Park to host Free Catch on the Field Event
On Saturday, August 15th, Harbor Park will be hosting a Catch on the Field event presented by the Virginia Birth Father Registry. In order to adhere to Virginia’s social distancing requirements, there are several steps we will be taking at the ballpark to ensure everyone has a fun time while staying safe.
** UPDATE – All spots for the event have been filled. We’re looking forward to seeing you at the ballpark! **
DATE: Saturday, August 15 (Rain date of Saturday, August 22)
TIMES: The event will run from 10 am – 4 pm. Each grouping will have 45 minutes on the field, and we will have six different time slots: 10:00-10:45, 11:00-11:45, 12:00-12:45, 1:00-1:45, 2:00-2:45, 3:00-3:45. At the end of your time slot, Tides staff will usher your group off the field.
CAPACITY: There will be 10 time slots available per hour, with each group spot limited to a maximum of four people from the same household. We are unable to increase the number for a group, as current Virginia guidelines strictly limit the capacity for public gatherings.
PARKING AND STADIUM ENTRY: Fans should park in Lot D, and parking will be free. Fans will enter and exit the ballpark through the centerfield gate.
SOCIAL DISTANCING REQUIREMENTS: In order to adhere to Virginia’s social distancing requirements, all participants will be required to wear a mask at all times, including while playing catch on the field. Groupings will be spread out throughout the outfield to ensure maximum spacing.
EQUIPMENT: Fans must bring their own baseball equipment (gloves and balls) – equipment will not be provided.
SIGN UP: Fans can reserve their time slot online HERE. The password to access the signup site is “catch”.
