Gainsboro Branch Library to reopen on June 15 in Roanoke

Roanoke, Virginia – The Gainsboro Branch Library is scheduled to reopen on Tuesday, June 15, after several months of renovation.
An opening ceremony will be held at the library at 9:15 a.m. on Tuesday in order to commemorate the completion of the renovations.
Working hours at the library are as it follows:

  • Monday to Wednesday 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
  • Thursday 10 a.m. – 8 p.m.
  • Friday and Saturday 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
  • The library will be closed on Sundays

Several events are also planned after the official reopening:

  • Café Night featuring McFadden & Friends, June 17th, 6 p.m.
  • Gainsboro history walking tour with Jordan Bell, June 18th, 10 a.m.
  • Roanoke’s Black History in the 1940’s: Lecture and book signing with Nelson Harris, June 24th, 6 p.m.
