Family of four displaced after house fire in Roanoke County

Roanoke County, Virginia – According to Roanoke County Fire & Rescue, a house fire in Roanoke County on Sunday night leaves a family displaced.
Fire crews were sent in the 6600 block of Old Mill Road in Back Creek around 9 p.m. after a report of house fire. Upon arrival, crews noticed smoke coming out from house’s front door.
A man with a dog were evacuated safely from the house during the fire. Occupants of the house, a family of four, are currently staying with relatives after being displaced by the fire.
The fire started accidentally in the kitchen, according to the Roanoke County Fire Marshal’s Office. Damage is estimated at $7,000.
