Danville Police Department will hold its second annual 5K with 5-0 today

DANVILLE, Va. – The Danville Police Department will be holding its second annual 5K with the 5-0 today.

The new department headquarters are located on Community Way, just off Memorial Drive, and that is where the race will get underway at eight in the morning.

The police department wants to build strong relationships with the community and promote healthy living by inviting people to walk or run with officers and staff.

There will be awards presented to the first, second, and third-place male and female groups, respectively.

“We want to make sure that at the Danville Police Department we are doing the right things and that we are building positive relationships with our community. So, this is just another opportunity, another engagement effort of trying to bring people together with our officers and our police staff to walk together in unison,” said Ashtyn Foddrell, Danville Police Department community relations liaison.

There is a $25 registration fee, and it will get you a bib, some refreshments, and a goodie bag.

The Danville Police Department will get one hundred percent of the earnings from the event.
