COVINGTON, Va. – After being arrested in July, the city treasurer of Covington has entered a guilty plea to three felony charges of Possession of Schedule II Narcotics.
Monday was Theresa Harrison’s day in court at the Alleghany County Circuit Court.
The special prosecutor who has been assigned to oversee this case is Paul A. McAndrews, who is the Commonwealth’s Attorney for Campbell County. According to what he said on WDBJ7, the charges would be withdrawn provided she fulfills a list of criteria during the next 18 months, which includes attending drug therapy and doing 100 hours of community service.
If Harrison goes to and finishes an ethics training course, she will have another tax charge against her dropped. This is a misdemeanor count of giving out sensitive tax information.
