COVID-19 hospitalizations in Virginia decreased by 8% last week

RICHMOND, Va. – According to statistics provided by the Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association, the number of people admitted to hospitals in the state due to COVID-19 has reduced over the course of the last week (VHHA).

According to the VHHA, there were 605 hospitalized patients who tested positive for COVID-19 as of Friday. This is a decrease from the previous week’s total of 657 (-52) individuals.

As of Friday, the VHHA’s 7-day moving average of current COVID-19 hospitalizations was at 638. This is a decrease of 64 from the previous Friday’s total of 702. On the previous Friday, that figure was 759, and it had been 793 on the Friday before that.

The Virginia Health and Hospital Association (VHHA) says that about 550 more COVID-19 patients were released from Virginia hospitals in the past week.

The VHHA announced that a total of 122,848 hospitalized COVID-19 patients had been released as of Friday, which is an increase over the previous update, which said that 122,285 patients had been discharged (+563).

The VHHA’s online data dashboard provides up-to-date statistics daily on the number of COVID-19 hospitalizations across the Commonwealth, ventilator usage, and current hospital bed availability.
