COVID-19 hospitalizations decreased in Virginia
The Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association says that there have been fewer COVID-19-related hospitalizations in the Commonwealth over the past week.
According to the VHHA, as of Friday, there were 735 hospitalized patients with confirmed COVID-19 infection, down from 773 (-38) previous Friday.
On Friday, the VHHA’s 7-day moving average of current COVID-19 hospitalizations was 759. This is a decrease of 34 from 793 last Friday. This number was 801 on the previous Friday and 786 on the previous Friday.
According to the VHHA, approximately 600 more COVID-19 patients were released from Virginia hospitals in the previous week.
The VHHA announced that 121,687 hospitalized COVID-19 patients were released on Friday, an increase over the previous Friday’s total of 121,090 (+597) patients.
This data covers COVID-19 recoveries in Virginia. The discharge category indicates the number of COVID-19 patients that were hospitalized and discharged, however the statistics do not provide an accurate recovery statistic.
In addition, the Virginia Department of Health reports that 21,587 fatalities (+124 since last Friday) have been attributed to COVID in the state since the outbreak began.
