Citizens May Participate in Nov. 16 City Council Meeting, Public Hearings By Phone, Email

Roanoke, Virginia – Due to the recent increase and severity in COVID-19 cases in the City of Roanoke, out of an abundance of caution, the Roanoke City Council has determined that temporary changes are necessary for the upcoming City Council Meeting and Public Hearings on Nov. 16.  Roanoke City Council Members will continue to meet in person in City Council Chambers, observing all recommended safety protocols, while members of the community wishing to address the City Council at these sessions are required to participate virtually or via email. The Council Chambers will not be accessible to the general public during the meeting. The meeting will continue to be broadcast live on RVTV Cox Channel 3 and on the City’s Facebook page.
Here is how citizens can participate:

  •  By phone via Zoom (contact the City Clerk’s Office for more information)
  • Via email ([email protected])

To address City Council via phone, please email the City Clerk by noon on Monday, Nov. 16, 2020. The Clerk will then share Zoom dial-in information with you. Participants may dial in during the 2 p.m. or 7 p.m. meeting. You will be placed in the Zoom waiting room and admitted into the meeting by the meeting host.
