Blue Ridge Parkway in Amherst, Bedford reopens for spring
AMHERST COUNTY, Va. — Blue Ridge Parkway attractions in Bedford and Amherst County have reopened for the springtime.
According to Chief Meteorologist George Flickinger, winter ice storms caused significant tree damage and clean-up along the parkway.
Park officials got fallen trees and limbs out of the way and cleaned up campgrounds for those who want to pay a visit. For a list of trails that are open, go here.
In addition, the National Park Service (NPS) encourages people who choose to visit the parkway during the pandemic to adhere to CDC’s guidance.
