Authorities say suspect in Big Island shooting incident held without bond

BEDFORD COUNTY, Va. – According to the Bedford County Sheriff’s Office, the suspect in the shooting death of a man on Monday afternoon outside H&H Market on Big Island is being detained without bail at this time.

Danelle Brown, who is 37 years old, was taken into custody and charged with aggravated malicious wounding as well as possession of a handgun while engaged in criminal activity.

The person who was shot in the head in the 11000 block of Lee Jackson Highway was taken to Roanoke Memorial Hospital, the deputies said.
