RICHMOND, Va. — As of Wednesday morning, Virginia health officials reported 3,203 new COVID-19 cases and 34 new virus-related deaths, bringing the Commonwealth’s total coronavirus count up to 537,319 confirmed and probable cases and 6,932 confirmed and probable fatalities.
The Virginia Department of Health (VDH) confirmed 427,188 cases and 5,951 deaths are related to the virus as of Wednesday, Feb. 10. However, 110,131 cases and 981 deaths are still reported as “probable.”
According to VDH’s Wednesday update, more than 82,000 cases have been reported from the following localities in southwest and central Virginia:
- Alleghany County: 1,146 cases (-3), 52 hospitalizations, and 32 deaths
- Amherst County: 2,538 cases, 64 hospitalizations, and 12 deaths
- Appomattox County: 1,322 cases, 44 hospitalizations, and 9 deaths
- Bath County: 245 cases, 5 hospitalizations (-1), and 8 deaths
- Bedford County: 5,494 cases, 132 hospitalizations, and 42 deaths
- Bland County: 609 cases, 19 hospitalizations, and 9 deaths
- Botetourt County: 1,965 cases, 49 hospitalizations, and 22 deaths
- Buena Vista: 794 cases, 18 hospitalizations, and 12 deaths
- Campbell County: 3,746 cases, 68 hospitalizations, and 33 deaths
- Carroll County: 2,024 cases, 144 hospitalizations, and 58 deaths
- Charlotte County: 692 cases, 34 hospitalizations, and 11 deaths
- Covington: 607 cases, 18 hospitalizations, and 4 deaths
- Craig County: 224 cases, 9 hospitalizations, and 3 deaths
- Danville: 3,945 cases, 211 hospitalizations, and 89 deaths
- Floyd County: 700 cases, 23 hospitalizations, and 18 deaths
- Franklin County: 3,532 cases, 117 hospitalizations, and 41 deaths
- Galax: 973 cases, 71 hospitalizations, and 41 deaths
- Giles County: 988 cases, 29 hospitalizations, and 8 deaths
- Grayson County: 1,076 cases, 64 hospitalizations, and 28 deaths
- Halifax County: 2,175 cases, 46 hospitalizations, and 56 deaths
- Henry County: 3,956 cases, 260 hospitalizations, and 83 deaths
- Highland County: 87 cases (-1) and 1 hospitalization
- Lexington: 931 cases, 19 hospitalizations, and 18 deaths
- Lynchburg: 6,581 cases, 166 hospitalizations, and 85 deaths
- Martinsville: 1,441 cases, 120 hospitalizations, and 37 deaths
- Montgomery County: 6,685 cases, 144 hospitalizations, and 70 deaths
- Nelson County: 713 cases, 31 hospitalizations, and 6 deaths
- Patrick County: 1,123 cases, 83 hospitalizations, and 30 deaths
- Pittsylvania County: 4,470 cases, 149 hospitalizations, and 55 deaths
- Pulaski County: 2,216 cases, 95 hospitalizations, and 46 deaths
- Radford: 1,825 cases, 36 hospitalizations, and 11 deaths
- Roanoke City: 7,327 cases, 177 hospitalizations, and 134 deaths
- Roanoke County: 6,824 cases, 121 hospitalizations, and 87 deaths
- Rockbridge County: 1,147 cases, 40 hospitalizations, and 29 deaths
- Salem: 1,799 cases, 53 hospitalizations, and 33 deaths
- Wythe County: 1,947 cases, 106 hospitalizations, and 45 deaths

Since Tuesday, Feb. 10, the VDH reported 56 new COVID-19 cases in Pittsylvania County, 47 in Lynchburg, 45 in Bedford County, 36 in Campbell County, 36 in Roanoke County, 34 in Roanoke City, 32 in Montgomery County, 27 in Amherst County, 27 in Danville, 20 in Lexington, 16 in Franklin County, 14 in Henry County, 13 in Appomattox County, 11 in Rockbridge County, 10 in Giles County, nine in Halifax County, eight in Charlotte County, eight in Pulaski County, seven in Buena Vista, six in Botetourt County, six in Nelson County, six in Wythe County, five in Martinsville, five in Salem, four in Patrick County, two in Carroll County, one in Covington, one in Floyd County, and one in Grayson County.
In addition, of the 34 new virus-related deaths reported on Wednesday, health officials say 12 are from the localities listed above. More specifically, four are from Danville, two are from Roanoke County, one is from Bedford County, one is from Campbell County, one is from Franklin County, one is from Montgomery County, one is from Salem and one is from Wythe County.
However, between Tuesday and Wednesday, the VDH reported three less coronavirus cases in Alleghany County, one less case in Highland County, and one less hospitalization in Bath County.
The department has reportedly received 22,470 total records of confirmed and probable virus-related hospitalizations around Virginia as of Wednesday, which is 131 more hospitalizations than VDH reported on Tuesday.
Of these newly-reported hospitalizations from Wednesday, three are from Danville, two are from Halifax County, two are from Wythe County, one is from Botetourt County, one is from Charlotte County, one is from Martinsville, one is from Patrick County, one is from Roanoke City, and one is from Salem.
