RICHMOND, Va. — The Virginia Department of Health (VDH) reported 3,699 new COVID-19 cases and 26 new virus-related deaths as of Thursday morning, bringing the Commonwealth’s total coronavirus count up to 541,018 confirmed and probable cases and 6,958 confirmed and probable fatalities.
Virginia health officials confirmed 429,779 cases and 5,978 deaths are related to the virus as of Thursday, Feb. 11. However, 111,239 cases and 980 deaths are still reported as “probable.”
According to VDH’s Thursday tally, more than 82,000 cases have been reported from the following localities in southwest and central Virginia:
- Alleghany County: 1,149 cases, 53 hospitalizations, and 32 deaths
- Amherst County: 2,574 cases, 65 hospitalizations, and 13 deaths
- Appomattox County: 1,338 cases, 45 hospitalizations, and 9 deaths
- Bath County: 245 cases, 5 hospitalizations, and 8 deaths
- Bedford County: 5,531 cases, 131 hospitalizations (-1), and 42 deaths
- Bland County: 609 cases, 19 hospitalizations, and 9 deaths
- Botetourt County: 1,974 cases, 49 hospitalizations, and 22 deaths
- Buena Vista: 795 cases, 18 hospitalizations, and 12 deaths
- Campbell County: 3,782 cases, 69 hospitalizations, and 33 deaths
- Carroll County: 2,030 cases, 145 hospitalizations, and 58 deaths
- Charlotte County: 701 cases, 34 hospitalizations, and 11 deaths
- Covington: 608 cases, 18 hospitalizations, and 4 deaths
- Craig County: 227 cases, 9 hospitalizations, and 3 deaths
- Danville: 3,993 cases, 211 hospitalizations, and 89 deaths
- Floyd County: 701 cases, 23 hospitalizations, and 18 deaths
- Franklin County: 3,547 cases, 118 hospitalizations, and 41 deaths
- Galax: 975 cases, 71 hospitalizations, and 41 deaths
- Giles County: 1,002 cases, 29 hospitalizations, and 8 deaths
- Grayson County: 1,080 cases, 64 hospitalizations, and 28 deaths
- Halifax County: 2,203 cases, 48 hospitalizations, and 56 deaths
- Henry County: 3,992 cases, 264 hospitalizations, and 83 deaths
- Highland County: 86 cases (-1) and 1 hospitalization
- Lexington: 935 cases, 19 hospitalizations, and 18 deaths
- Lynchburg: 6,644 cases, 167 hospitalizations, and 85 deaths
- Martinsville: 1,447 cases, 122 hospitalizations, and 40 deaths
- Montgomery County: 6,783 cases, 145 hospitalizations, and 70 deaths
- Nelson County: 720 cases, 31 hospitalizations, and 7 deaths
- Patrick County: 1,131 cases, 84 hospitalizations, and 30 deaths
- Pittsylvania County: 4,493 cases, 151 hospitalizations, and 55 deaths
- Pulaski County: 2,229 cases, 95 hospitalizations, and 46 deaths
- Radford: 1,831 cases, 35 hospitalizations (-1), and 11 deaths
- Roanoke City: 7,321 cases (-6), 176 hospitalizations (-1), and 132 deaths (-2)
- Roanoke County: 6,875 cases, 125 hospitalizations, and 89 deaths
- Rockbridge County: 1,167 cases, 40 hospitalizations, and 29 deaths
- Salem: 1,811 cases, 52 hospitalizations (-1), and 33 deaths
- Wythe County: 1,952 cases, 107 hospitalizations, and 45 deaths

Since Wednesday, Feb. 10, VDH reported 98 new COVID-19 cases in Montgomery County, which is the locality’s largest single-day spike in cases since mid-September; 63 in Lynchburg; 51 in Roanoke County; 48 in Danville; 37 in Bedford County; 36 in Amherst County; 36 in Campbell County; 36 in Henry County; 28 in Halifax County; 23 in Pittsylvania County; 20 in Rockbridge County; 16 in Appomattox County; 15 in Franklin County; 14 in Giles County; 13 in Pulaski County; 12 in Salem; nine in Botetourt County; nine in Charlotte County; eight in Patrick County; seven in Nelson County; six in Carroll County; six in Martinsville; six in Radford; five in Wythe County; four in Grayson County; four in Lexington; three in Alleghany County; three in Craig County; two in Galax; one in Buena Vista; one in Covington; and one in Floyd County.
In addition, of the 26 new virus-related deaths reported on Thursday, health officials say three are from Martinsville, two are from Roanoke County, one is from Amherst County, and one is from Nelson County.
The department has reportedly received 22,615 total records of confirmed and probable virus-related hospitalizations around Virginia as of Thursday, which is 145 more hospitalizations than VDH reported on Wednesday.
Of these newly-reported hospitalizations from Thursday, four are from Henry County, four are from Roanoke County, two are from Halifax County, two are from Martinsville, two are from Pittsylvania County, one is from Alleghany County, one is from Amherst County, one is from Appomattox County, one is from Campbell County, one is from Carroll County, one is from Franklin County, one is from Lynchburg, one is from Montgomery County, one is from Patrick County, and one is from Wythe County.
However, between Wednesday and Thursday, VDH reported six less coronavirus cases, one less hospitalization in Roanoke City; one less case in Highland County; one less hospitalization in Bedford County; one less hospitalization in Radford; and one less hospitalization in Salem.
