Wytheville man sentenced for possession of child pornography

WYTHEVILLE, Va. – According to the Wythe County Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office, a man from Wytheville was found guilty on several counts of possessing child pornography.

Seth Aaron Wright, age 29, was found to be guilty on all 20 charges brought against him.

After a search warrant was carried out at Wright’s house, the police found photos on two electronic devices, which led to the filing of the charges.

The Internet Crimes Against Children Division of the Bedford County Sheriff’s Office, along with the Wythe County Sheriff’s Office, was in charge of the investigation and filing of charges.

Wright was given a term of ten years in jail, with the remaining ninety years of his sentence suspended. He is going to serve the whole ten years of his sentence. Wright will have to do some time on probation and sign up with the state police as a sexual offender after he gets out of jail.

“My office, as well as the Wythe County Sheriff’s Office, will continue to protect our children and our community against crimes of this heinous nature. I can think of no better way to protect this community than separating the defendant from the law abiding citizens of this County for the next decade.” Mike Jones said.
