Graham warned of ‘riots in the streets’ if Trump prosecuted over classified materials discovered during Mar-a-Lago raid

Senator Lindsey Graham (R-South Carolina) said on Sunday that there could be “riots in the streets” if former President Trump is prosecuted for how he handled classified information found at his Mar-a-Lago home during an FBI raid.

“If there’s a prosecution of Donald Trump for mishandling classified information, after the Clinton debacle… there’ll be riots in the streets,” Graham told former South Carolina congressman Trey Gowdy , who now hosts Fox News’ “Sunday Night in America.”

Later on Sunday evening, Trump posted a video clip of the interview on his Truth Social account.

Gowdy was in charge of the House Select Committee on Benghazi, which looked into the 2012 terrorist attacks in Libya that killed four Americans and found that Clinton had used a private email server.

When asked about the special grand jury in Georgia that is looking into Trump and his associates’ attempts to change the results of the 2020 election in that state, Graham said he was worried that Trump was being treated with “a double standard” and warned again of riots.

Graham has been called as a witness in the investigation into the phone calls that were made to Georgia election officials seeking to change the results of the election in that state.

On Sunday, the senator from South Carolina also addressed allegations that the FBI was instructed to “back off” its investigation into Hunter Biden’s laptop in order to keep stories about the president’s son out of the headlines ahead of the 2020 election.

“Most Republicans, including me, believes when it comes to Trump, there is no law. It’s all about getting him,” said Graham.

“I’ve never been more worried about the law and politics as I am right now,” Graham added.
