Roanoke shooting leaves one dead, one injured

ROANOKE, Va. – An investigation has been opened by the Roanoke Police Department into a gunshot that took place early on Sunday morning. Two men were shot, and one of them passed away.

According to the police, at around 2:45 in the morning, they were sent to the 1900 block of 10th Street NW for a report of a person who had been shot. The man sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital, where he ultimately died due to the injuries.

At the same time, police say they were informed that another man had arrived at the hospital with gunshot wounds. Both men were reportedly injured in the same shooting. It did not seem that his injuries were life-threatening.

Investigators have a strong suspicion that both men were involved in the incident that took place in front of a shop located in the 1900 block of 10th Street NW.

The police have not identified any possible suspects. No arrests have been made.
