New shop for art and gifts opened in Martinsville

MARTINSVILLE, Va. -In Uptown Martinsville, there is a new place to purchase art and presents for your loved ones.

Made in Martinsville had its ribbon-cutting ceremony on East Main Street on Thursday afternoon. The new shop will include arts and crafts from local artists.

In addition to paintings, pottery, and rose bears, there are also regional snacks.

“There are a ton of people everywhere I go that are like me and make great things and have limited places to share them with the public. I thought this is a great opportunity for me to share all of the great things that are made in and around Martinsville and Henry County,” the owner of Made in Martinsville, Forrest Forschmiedt, said.

Made in Martinsville is open from 11 a.m. on Wednesday through Sunday.
