Patrick County receives federal funding to purchase a new mobile health care unit

STUART, Va. – Despite their political differences, certain subjects continue to unite Democrats and Republicans. This was the case in Patrick County on Wednesday morning.

Senator Mark Warner (D-Virginia) and Representative Morgan Griffith (R-Ninth District) presented Patrick County with $600,000 in federal funding. The money will be used to buy a new mobile health care unit and upgrade an old one.

“Taking health care to the front door if necessary is incredibly, incredibly important. And this mobile medical van would be able to help create that,” Warner said during the check presenting ceremony.

“We’re going to have disagreements on some stuff, but it has really been good working with both senators to make things like the mobile unit to get more care to more patients and support a healthier Patrick County,” Griffith said.

Warner and Griffith joined other officials in front of the Foresight Hospital of Patrick County, which is now anticipated to reopen in the first quarter of next year.
