Christiansburg Police Department raises money for a good cause by selling K-9 calendars

CHRISTIANSBURG, Va. – With the help of its canine unit, the Christiansburg Police Department is raising money for a good cause.

For more than ten years, the department has taken part in the Blue Elves Project, which lets police officers buy and give holiday gifts to poor children in the area.

There will be a K-9 calendar available for purchase by the public this year, featuring local law enforcement dogs. Funds raised will be donated to the Blue Elves Project.

“We like it because it gives a chance to our officers and community to interact in a way that isn’t a police interaction. You just get out in the community and just talk to each other and have a positive interaction,” Assistant Police Chief Chris Ramsey said.

Calendars are presently available for purchase at the Christiansburg Police Department while supplies last.
