Dissatisfied customer taken into custody after threatening staff at Virginia smoothie shop
A dissatisfied customer who threw what police called a temper tantrum at a smoothie shop near Fredericksburg on Friday afternoon was taken into custody.
Keona Lewis, 33, of Washington, DC, was “unhappy” with the smoothie she got at the Tropical Smoothie Café on South Gateway Drive, and she threatened to assault the staff who had given it to her, as stated in a press release from the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, Lewis started by yelling at other employees in the store, then went behind the counter and shoved one employee before being pulled away by a companion.
According to the release, before leaving the store, Lewis “swiped” four smoothies off the counter across the floor and threw 14 snickerdoodle cookies away in the trash can.
None of the employees sustained injuries in the incident.
Lewis was located and taken into custody by deputies in a nearby parking lot. She has been charged with assault, battery, and property damage, and she was released on an unsecured bond.
