Armed man causes domestic incident in apartment complex in Roanoke, report

Roanoke, Virginia – Saturday morning police responded to what appears to be domestic violence in Roanoke County.
According to reports, officers responded in the 3800 block of Sunhaven Court at Sunscape Apartments around 11:45 following 911 call regarding domestic incident.
When they arrived at the apartment complex, they could hear arguing coming from the apartment.
The neighbor who made the 911 call initially told police the man is armed with a knife. But when officers approached the apartment, they saw the man pointing a gun at his wife.
The suspect threatened the woman who was trying to leave the apartment.
Only one shot was fired by the police after their arrival, but no injuries were reported. The man was arrested shortly after and transferred in mental hospital for evaluation.
The identity of the man was not released at this time.
