Man charged with second-degree murder in connection with Northwest Roanoke shooting

ROANOKE, Va. – Roanoke police have arrested the man they believe shot a killed a 46-year-old woman last weekend.

On Friday, authorities arrested 35-year-old Todd Manns, of Roanoke, and charged him with second-degree murder in connection with the shooting death of Taniko Belt.

Manns and Belt knew each other and police believe this was an isolated incident.

The Roanoke Police Department has released the name of the Roanoke woman found dead inside a car on Sunday night.

Taniko Belt, 46, was shot multiple times and found by authorities behind the wheel of a car after a crash on Peters Creek Road.
