Suspect in a Roanoke County bank robbery arrested after a police chase

Roanoke County, Virginia – During a police chase on I-581 on Tuesday afternoon, a suspect in the robbery of a Roanoke County bank was brought into custody.
An employee at Pinnacle Bank in the 4000 block of Challenger Avenue called Roanoke County police at 1 p.m. to report that someone had robbed the bank, authorities say.
The suspect vehicle was spotted on Orange Avenue and officers tried to pull it over.
After the suspect didn’t follow police orders and took I-581 South, the police started the chase.
The pursuit continued onto Southern Hils Drive, along side streets, and eventually onto Franklin Road.
Finally, the suspect pulled over in a quiet neighborhood in Roanoke, where he was brought into custody without further incident.
Officers said that they had recovered an undisclosed amount of cash from the vehicle.
According to authorities, the bank robbery was reported and the whole situation was settled in less than 20 minutes.
There were no recorded injuries.
