Virginia State Police issued a Senior Alert for a missing elderly man

ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. – As part of the investigation into the disappearance of an elderly man, the Virginia State Police have issued a Senior Alert on behalf of the Albemarle County Police.

The police are searching for a white man named Lawrence Gaines Thomas, 78, who has brown eyes and gray hair, is 5 feet 5 inches tall, and weighs 130 pounds. It was reported that he was last seen on November 11 around 5:00 p.m. at the Food Lion grocery store located in Scottsville, Virginia, on the Scottsville Road. It is possible that he is driving a black 2016 Nissan Rogue with the license plate number ULP-1923 from the state of Virginia.

According to the police, Thomas suffers from a cognitive disability, which means that his disappearance poses an actual threat to his wellbeing and safety.
