Roanoke Fire-EMS feasted on Thanksgiving

Roanoke, Virginia – There are no days off for some people, such as first responders, on holidays like Thanksgiving.
However, this does not exclude them from celebrating.
Roanoke Fire-EMS was honored with a Thanksgiving feast provided by Fellowship Community Church in Roanoke.
To celebrate the holiday, some of the first responders’ families joined them at the station.
“It’s like our family away from home. So it’s the home away from home. We spend one-third of our lives here, so we still feel like we’re home,” said Roanoke firefighter and paramedic, Angel Parra.
