Several hospitalized after weekend crash, fire in Roanoke

ROANOKE, Va. – Several people were hospitalized after a car accident and structure fire on Peters Creek Road over the weekend caused around $350,000 in damages, according to Roanoke Fire-EMS.

Authorities said crews responded to an accident and structure fire in the 3700 block of Peters Creek Road on Sunday around 3:30 a.m.

When crews first arrived, they said the building was fully involved with heavy smoke and flames and due to the size of the fire, only a defensive attack was performed.

Authorities said people involved in the car accident were taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, and no other injuries were reported.

Officials determined the fire to be accidental and caused by a vehicle crashing into the building.

The estimated cost of damages to the building are about $350,000, officials said.
