Region-wide donation drive to be hosted by Blue Ridge Area Food Bank

Lynchburg, Virginia – The Blue Ridge Area Food Bank requires your assistance in order to fulfill their goal of providing 400,000 meals to low-income families.
In honor of the food bank’s 40th anniversary, it will hold its first-ever regional campaign, “Unity in Community Food and Fund Drive.”
In the Blue Ridge region, one out of every 12 adults and children is food insecure.
You can make an online gift here between August 7 and 14, and your donation will be matched.
To put things in perspective, $1 could feed eight people.
Volunteers will be on board to accept non-perishable food donations outside at the following sites on Friday, August 13 and Saturday, August 14:

  • Food Bank Headquarters & Shenandoah Valley Branch – 96 Laurel Hill Road, Verona, VA 24482
  • The Food Bank’s Thomas Jefferson Area Branch – 1207 Harris Street, Charlottesville, VA 22903
