Name of woman discovered dead in Fincastle gravel lot revealed

FINCASTLE, Va. – According to the Botetourt County Sheriff’s Office, the corpse of Roanoke resident Elizabeth Hensley was discovered on October 8 in a gravel lot at the Glen Wilton Park and Ride along Botetourt Road with what seemed to be a gunshot wound.

Detectives were also successful in finding Hensley’s burned-out automobile in Bath County, where it had been left after it had been stolen.

The office of the medical examiner in Roanoke has determined that her death was the result of a murder.

This murder was not a random act, and there is no continuing danger to the community as a result of this crime.
