Roanoke daycare visited by First Lady Pamela Northam

Roanoke, Virginia – On Tuesday afternoon, First Lady Pamela Northam visited Roanoke Valley.
The purpose of the visit was to promote the expansion of early childcare assistance. The state expanded the childcare subsidy program in April.
According to officials, this is to give more money for families to pay for care.
The childcare centers struggling from the pandemic will be helped from the state.
“We want to make sure all families can afford these opportunities. We know this is great quality care and we want that for every child,” the First Lady of Virginia, Pamela Northam said.
Qualifying working families will get opportunities that didn’t have before with the new funding.
The funding allows a sign-on bonus to those who apply for childcare jobs.
