Donations for “Biscuit Fund” required to help remaining rescued Envigo beagles

ROANOKE, Va. – Angels of Assisi in Roanoke is asking people to give money to a fund called the “Biscuit Fund” so that the remaining rescued Envigo beagles can be provided with the required care.

On Friday, twenty more beagles were brought into the shelter. With the money that has been donated, the beagle will get the medical care it needs, such as spaying, neutering, and dental care.

At Angels of Assisi, there are still fifteen beagles available for adoption.

According to Angel’s head of community engagement, all of the beagles from the first and second sets have been adopted and are doing well in their new homes, where they will remain permanently.

“They’re still learning how to do things like walk up the stairs and walk on a leash because they’ve never lived in a home before, so some of those things are a little scary,” Dayna Reynolds said. “We haven’t had any of them returned, everybody has been working with them and they just love their little new best friends.”

The facility gave Angels more than one hundred beagles.

The animal shelter is not taking any further applications for the beagles at this time.
